Unease in Democracy

I am fearful for American democracy. The Democrats scoff at the notion of public opposition to reconciliation -- they claim that its a Republican trick. But they neglect to mention that they intended to use the same thing that they have reviled -- using a simple majority for a spending and taxation bill ... itself a completely new application.

But since the Democrats don't even have the votes for a majority reconciliation, they want to play with the rules and "deem a bill passed" through the expedient of passing "corrections" to the Senate bill.  THIS IS DISTURBING. This is passing legislation without the required vote of the House, passing a bill that could no longer even pass the Senate (thanks, Scott).  This is FORCING A LIBERAL AGENDA ON THE PUBLIC THAT DON'T WANT IT.  This is political hubris on a scale never seen before in the United States. This is precedent of a faction within a simple majority in the House willing to force a ruinous spending and taxation bill on the American public without recourse to the ballot box.

Make no mistake, this is bad news. This means the breakdown of representative democracy. This is the face of the devil, evil and bloody minded.  Obama again pushed aside notions of public inquiry and staged behind closed doors meetings to coerce legislators to vote for his fiasco.

This just may be our darkest moment.

The Democrats will try to do the same trick with extending the vote to illegal immigrants. I promise you that they will try it, or try to backdoor it. They have to, because otherwise nobody will be left to vote for them after the shocking truth is made clear to the sucker-public.  Can we roll this back? I don't know.  Look to the Second Amendment for the truth and the possible way that this plays out.
