Moronic reference

pOTUS (small "p") referred to the Gulf oil crisis as having echos of 9/11.

I cannot think of a rational and fair reason why he would do so -- at least on the face of the comment. My guess is that he will use this as a springboard to foist energy policy on the U.S. that will cripple us for decades to come -- in the same vein as 9/11 created Homeland Security and the reforms to Intelligence -- fine examples of oxymorons.

The 9/11 reference is obviously an attempt to cloak his failures over the last 50 days as being "something beyond his control" and the result of evil foreigners -- all the better to bash BP with for political marbles. In making this allusion he insults all Americans and in particular, the Americans who died at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in a field in Pennsylvania. Americans who died in trying to save other Americans. And Americans who suffer for the loss of loved ones and are in poor health because of the toxic stew ... created by the actions of jihadists, terrorists.

It is hardly worth mentioning, but the analogy is more Katrina than 9/11.  And you, Mr. [p]resident, are still fiddling while Rome is burning, you are still trying to avoid wasting a good crisis by moving forward your socialist / progressive agenda at our expense. Instead of wasting time yacking about "energy policy" why not waste some time addressing Iran's nuclear ambitions, Brazil's cozy relationship with Iran, Chavez's meddling and the International Anti-Israel conspiracy? Or figuring out how we can stop the flow of oil?

Existential Time

Is there any point to blogging? Does anyone ever really read them? I get direct e-mails ... but people need to "hear" what I am saying. This is because there is too much that is important that I try to discuss that is suppressed by the mass media. Stuff so basic that it takes the kid to point out that the Emperor has no clothes.

Friends, the time to blow the whistle on this corrupt administration is now. The personnel hired by Obama are singularly unsuitable to government service.  Our military is about to face drastic cuts due to the inability of the Government to pay for it -- and, I would claim, at a point in history where a strong America is more important than ever. We face enemies around the globe that sense "blood in the water" -- the product of a weak and vacillating president (small "p", like the person). Nations that should never challenge us are thumbing their noses at us everywhere, inciting petty military adventurism, inflicting untold misery on their indigenous populations -- all things that would not happen if there were consequences ... American consequences.

Israel has just received cooperation from Saudi Arabia ... home of Islam. Why? Because the Guardians of Islam recognize that America is "no more" is helpless and feckless in the face of petty tyrants like Ahmadinejad.  So Israel, truly alone in the world becomes a natural ally of Wahabis?

And meanwhile our [p]resident plays golf -- threatens BP and the U.K -- pissing away any sense of cooperation and a "special relationship" and devastating the pensions of Brits.  Solutions? Blame Bush. That, Mr. [p]resident, does not fly anymore. You and you party make me sick -- largely with fear for our future -- but also from sheer distaste for your sabotage of our country.

Ugh.

It's a weird time in the world.

There is so much happening.

Hungary is now the default risk champion -- they were bailed out two years ago with E20 billion and now the new government says that they are on the brink due to manipulation by the previous government which lied about finances. There is lots of exposure in German banks to Hungary.

Oil is starting to wash up on Florida beaches. And if the models are correct, at least some of it will make it into the North Atlantic and as far as Bermuda. Nice. Supposedly, BP has a cap on it that will capture all but 10% of escaping oil. While that is nice ... it is still a poop-load of oil between now and when a relief well can be used to cap the gusher.

Obama may be able to use executive privilege -- or get Bill Clinton to do it -- as far as sequestering the internal memos written by Kagan when she was a White House attorney. Those papers will be the most revealing as to what she really thinks about things. I'll bet 2 to 1 that she is exposed as a radical leftist.

Turkey is flexing its muscles to take over the mantel of the Leading Islamic Nation. And well they should given their strategic position, military power and money.  Trouble is that they are acting like buttholes with respect to Israel. Israel has the sovereign right to blockade its enemy ... full stop. We did it to Germany and Japan. We did it to Cuba (Soviet missile crisis, anyone?) and we would not hesitate to do it to anyone that threatened us.  Hamas rules Gaza. Hamas is the sworn enemy of Israel and as a part of its political manifesto has the destruction of Israel and all Jews first and foremost. So, these activists are OK with Hamas' aims? They are OK with Genocide -- for that is what Hamas wants. Israel is perfectly capable of eliminating the Palestinians -- yet they haven't. Instead, Hamas has sent between 4,000 and 10,000 rockets from Gaza into Israel with the sole aim of killing Jews. The number is just depending on who you believe, and at any measure, it is a large number.

Consider if Israel relents and allows ships to enter Gaza ... you know that they will be chock full of missiles and explosives. Israel has already intercepted two ships like that ... why doesn't the world see the truth of the matter here? It is about survival of the state. No more, no less.

Obama, that weasel-toad lets the world know that he regards -- thus the United States regards -- Israel's nuclear weapons as illegitimate ... a signal to the jackals to circle round, the meal is coming. Europe is even more craven, tired with the Jewish / Palestinian problem and fundamentally anti-semitic in the first place.  They supply cover and fronts to Palestinian terrorist organizations -- only they refer to them as activist pro-freedom movements. Idiots.

Obama the financial guru tells us the the job report is irrefutable proof that the economy is making a comeback ... except he fails to mention that of the 430,000 jobs created, only 41,000 were real jobs. The rest were census workers -- more stimulus for no return.

More on the "Boarding"

You can see that the "activists" were prepared and waiting for the Israelis to board from their helicopters. You can also clearly see them attacking the boarders with pipes and what look to be axe handles - as they hit the deck. (Pardon the ad which plays first.)

Then you see the "peaceful activists" that are being removed from the ship. 'Nuff said.

Israel's gaffe

A moron could have told you that this "peaceful convoy" was a trap. And still, Israel managed to fall into it. What the left-wing and anti-semite press are not reporting on is that the final ship was stuffed with "activists" who were willing to fight the Israeli boarders and in fact had joined the convoy precisely for that purpose: to paint Israel as the evil oppressor.

True to form, the mass media press took this bait, hook, line and sinker -- they ARE a pathetic excuse for journalism and independent thinking.  Instead of pointing out that at least two of the "activists" were Muslim Brotherhood parliamentarians from Egypt, and goodness knows how many other stooges, we are assailed by reports of Israeli brutality. The Israeli boarders were meant to have to resort to firearms to protect themselves. The Palestinians attacked them with knives, clubs and other weapons designed to kill -- but with plausible deniability.

My guess is that they will find nothing at all in terms of weapons, etc. on that vessel. It would defeat the propaganda purpose it has filled so well. If there was any militarily useful stuff, it would have been on board the unprotected vessels -- but the odds are there was nothing at all on any of them. If Israel does "find" some, it will surely be called a plant anyway.

So why take the route that it did? Why board it person to person? Wouldn't it be better to disable the propulsion system and take the vessel into tow? Simply shoot bolts into the bow structure once the prop is disabled and tow the s.o.b. into port. If it drops anchor, use thermite bands to cut away the cable or chain and proceed. Once in an Israeli port, "invite the guests" to disembark and deport them after the ship has been searched -- they were violating territorial waters Israel claims as an exclusion zone.  If they didn't want to disembark, tear gas them and remove them with tasers. You might have a scuffle -- you certainly would -- but you can show it live on T.V. to show that you were polite but firm. Instead of being portrayed as international thugs.

Or just sink it when they refused to heave to.
